I adhere to the British Psychological Society professional guidlelines and ethical code of conduct.
I describe my approach as Integrative. I have trained extensively in Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural approaches and draw from all of these in my therapeutic approach with clients. Most importantly I feel it is crucial to recognise each client as an individual. I tailor my approach to best meet each client's needs. Increasingly, research indicates the importance of the relationship between therapist and client for successful outcomes in therapy. How clients feel within our working relationship together can be very important and help progress the therapeutic process. I therefore aim to provide a warm and caring, yet honest relationship with clients with the aim of offering a space where you can feel free to share anything you feel is important. I think that feeling comfortable with a therapist is of the utmost importance.
